Bigbrimar, Pre01 and Faldo All Score in Qualifiers - for Seats in Qualifiers

NPP continues to strike fear in the hearts of PokerStar players. O, fear might be a little over-stating. But even the snickering and the fist fights to get a seat at a table Faldo is playing at has died down - a little.

First tourney first. Pre01 finished 126th out of 1876 players in the World Blogger Championship of On-line Poker #4 (WBCOOP Event #4) to win a seat in a qualifier for the Spring Championship of On-line Poker (SCOOP).

Pre01 writes two blogs (as Faldo used to) and their links are added to the other links we have near the top of the blog. Congratulations Pre01.

Bigbrimar finished in the top 9 in a 97 player Qualifier to win a seat in a bigger qualifying tourney. Bigbri already reported that his success rate with that seat was – not so much. His (KK) lost to a flush. But still, a fine job on the seat win Bri.

Faldo meanwhile entered the WBCOOP Event #5 – an 8-game event. There were 1536 entries and Faldo managed to finish 71st – to win the same seat Pre01 did.

My downfall was due to a cold deck AND a bad beat! Try to top that one.

The fatal hand was a crippler on the game 6-handed Omaha Pot Limit. Faldo had a seat and was in the middle of the pack as far as stack sizes. Blinds 500/1000 and Faldo sitting with 47000 chips. Not too shabby.

Dealt [As Js 2s 5s] in the small blind, Faldo calls the difference to go to the flop 3-handed.

The flop is [Jc 9h Jd]. Faldo deceptively checks (yeah, right) and Villian #1 makes it 3000 and Villian #2 calls.

Faldo raises the pot with the trip jacks to make the straights pay for chasing. I am not fearing any (J X) hand, as I have an Ace kicker. Well all the chips go in and I am horrified to see:

Villian #1 (A993) (43%)
Villian #2 (KKJQ) (24%)
Faldo (As Js 2s 5s) (33%)

Cold-decked - but at least close to the right price, especially since I already cashed for a cheap seat.

The killer was the [K] on the river to give the big dog the pot. I got rivered and cold-decked in the same hand. Only Faldo can manage that.

Crippled, I soon semi-bluffed a medium hand in Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball to exit.
