Conversations Where Information Was Not Shared

Hope you have one:
A tourist from the Midwest walked into a Chinese curio shop in San Francisco. While looking around at the exotic merchandise, he noticed a very lifelike, life-sized, bronze statue of a rat. It had no price tag, but was so incredibly striking the tourist decided he must have it.
He took it to the old shop owner and asked, “How much for the bronze rat?”
“Ahhh, you have chosen wisely! It is $12 for the rat, and $100 for the story,” said the wise old Chinaman.
The tourist quickly pulled out twelve dollars. “I’ll just take the rat, you can keep the story”, he said.
As he walked down the street carrying his bronze rat, the tourist noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and had begun following him down the street. This was a bit disconcerting so he began walking faster.
A couple blocks later he looked behind him and saw to his horror the herd of rats behind him had grown to hundreds, and they began squealing. Sweating now, the tourist began to trot toward the Bay. After a couple more blocks, he looked around only to discover that the rats now numbered in the THOUSANDS, and were squealing and coming toward him faster and faster.
Terrified, he ran to the edge of the Bay and threw the bronze rat as far as he could into the Bay.
Amazingly, the thousands of rats all jumped into the Bay after the bronze rat, and were all drowned.
The man walked back to the curio shop in Chinatown.
“Ahhh,” said the owner, “You have come back for story, yes?
“Are you kidding?,” said the man, “I came back to see if you have a bronze Democrat!”

Transference of responsibility:
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,
"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable
GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama-Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are -- or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. And you're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

K9isadog Wins His 4th NPP Tourney, but ThePunk75 Wins the 2nd Quarter Seat

ThePunk75 and K9isadog spanked the competition...and a few other things.
The last round of the 2nd quarter was missing a couple of the finalists as Lump2 - and our leader - 95corolla were absent. That left Faldo, LittleRedElf and ThePunk75 as the only people who could catch 95corolla. And with Faldo a wild card, we could have had two seats secured tonight.
But LittleRedElf and Faldo were gone before the final table and that left ThePunk75 needing a 5th place finish to capture the 2nd quarter seat, and he did it!
But let’s not forget the late run by K9isadog – who won three of the last five tournaments to get in the hunt. He came up short, but he sure picked up a lot of points towards a Total Points seat – if he doesn’t win one of the last two quarters. Great job, K9isadog!
The Third Quarter starts next week. It’s a new beginning. If you thought about joining – do it now.
If you are a current member and just lost touch in the first two quarters, we still have two full ones left. Come on back!
It’s the best poker league on the internet – bar none! It’s the truth, pure and simple.
On to the action:
5 min: Wingsfancurt (16th) Missed it playing my hand.
12 min: Theedouble*d (15th) Missed it playing my hand.
13 min: LittleRedElf (14th) loses to Derf-63’s full house.
14 min: T3chlady (13th) goes with (AA) and runs into Derf-63’s quad Eights! Ouch!
16 min: Suetman123 (12th) goes with trips, but both K9isadog and ThePunk75 have a straight.
22 min: Tigercub8189 (11th) goes with (KK) and loses to K9isadog’s trips.
30 min: A short-stacked (SS) Mikeniks-Faldo (10th) has to with a pair of Tens and a flush and straight draw, but of course can’t hit and loses to K9isadog’s pair of Aces.
50 min: A (SS) Sanster89 (9th) has to go with (77) and runs into Wwsatando’s (QQ).
1st break:
Derf-63   5966
K9isadog    5315
Pre01   3944

65 min: A SS Wwsatando (8th) has (KJ), and Pre01 correctly calls with (KQ).
69 min: Lump2 (7th) blinds out.
74 min: A SS Greggst49 (6th) has to go with (QJ) and loses to K9isadog (AJ).
79 min: A SS ThePunk75 (5th) has to go with (Qd 6d) and a diamond draw. But he misses and K9isadog has two pair. But with the 5th place finish, ThePunk picked up enough points to win the 2nd quarter seat!
105 min: Absea98 (4th) has (88) and loses a coin flip to Derf-63 with (AK) when an [A] hits the board.

The United States is Dying Within the Sounds of Silence

Tea Party = Americans, Democrats = Traitors, the Pure and Simple Truth
Hello Freedom, my old friend.
I've come to talk with you again.
Because communism is softly creeping,
Left its seeds while we were sleeping.
And the visions that were planted in our children’s brains,
Still remains,
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone,
Followed by a government drone.
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp.
When my heart was stabbed by the loss of American rights,
That were lost that night,
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw,
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People rounded up without fighting,
People arrested just for speaking.
People losing liberty that their heirs never knew,
Their children never had a clue,
To disturb the sounds of silence.

"Fools", said I, "You do not know,
Liberalism like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And people now had to bow and pay
To the Liberal god they made.
And the dictator flashed out his warning,
In the words that lists were forming.
And a sign said, "The words of the commies are written on the school halls,
And gulag walls."
And it happened in the sounds of silence.

95corolla Wins at NPP for the 3rd Time This Year!

95corolla won everything that was on the table.
95corolla took care of an 8 person SNG tonight to take lead in both the 2nd quarter standings and the Total Points List! That is the mark of consistency and talent against this tough NPP field.
Well where was everyone? Faldo has to take a week off from describing the action, and everyone quits?
Just kidding. After all, it is summer and being on a computer in nice weather isn't always the best plan.
Also, we are at the end of the quarter and not everyone is still in the running (like your humble scribe).
And we have a player already qualified for the finals.
And still another – LittleRedElf - playing and cashing at the WSOP in Las Vegas! Somehow, he makes the decision to go play in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas rather than play at NPP. Go figure.
LittleRedElf did cash in one of the events and got knocked out on a terrible bad beat. He had (55) and flopped a [5A3] and bet. A player re-raised all in with (AJ) and Elf called. Of course the next two cards were [AJ]. Sick!
Elf, are you sure you didn’t have any of Faldo’s chips from NPP in your pocket. Those things are poison and will kill your luck.
On to the action:
14 min: T3chlady (8th) has (QQ) but Derf-63 has (88) and hits an [8] on the flop.
16 min: Theedouble*d (7th) runs into Derf-63’s flush.
34 min: Tigercub8189 (6th) has (AA) but ThePunk75 has two pair! Ouch!
1st break:
Mikeniks-Faldo    3665
ThePunk75    3615
95corolla   2860
Derf-63   1460
Sanster89   400
65 min: A SS Derf-63 (5th) loses to Sanster89’s pair of Aces.
69 min: A SS Sanster89 (4th) loses to 95corolla’s pair of Tens.
78 min: ThePunk75 (3rd) sees his two pair lose to 95corolla’s straight.
Heads Up:       95corolla      10,100      -     Mikeniks-Faldo     1,900
80 min:  Mikeniks-Faldo (2nd) has to go with (33) but loses the coin flip to 95corolla’s (Jh Th) as a [J] flops.
Congratulations to 95corolla on his 5th NPP win!
1st – 95corolla
2nd – Mikeniks-Faldo
3rd – ThePunk75
4th – Sanster89
5th – Derf-63

Douge2 Wins His 3rd NPP Tourney of 2013

Douge2 shoots........he scores! (as all NPP winners do)
Douge2 continues to climb the ladder in the Total Points race and will be a factor in the next two quarter races. This win moves him up the Walk of Fame, but won’t help him in the 2nd quarter race.
But 95corolla cashed and moved ever closer to the leaders of the 2nd quarter, making the last two weeks of this contest even more exciting.
No comments on the hands were recorded as Faldo was playing, recording and at a “off site” business meeting trying to keep sparkles from falling into the computer keyboard. But, enough about Faldo’s tough work schedule. On to the action:
10 min: LittleRedElf (17th)
28 min: Derf-63 (16th)
30 min: Wingsfancurt (15th)
33 min: Mikeniks-Faldo (14th)
36 min: Theedouble*d (13th)
