Derf-63 Wins for the 6th Time in 2016

Derf wins some "Candy" on the NPP yacht.
Derf-63 solidly in second place for the most wins in 2016. Derf's style is sort of an 'all or nothing' approach to tournaments. Placing in the money does not seem to be his style. He is an Al Davis type (former owner of the Oakland Raiders) - "Just Win Baby!"

With this win, Derf-63 is back in the race for the 4th seat in the NPP Final.

2nd - Tomservo2
3rd - Tigercub8189
4th - LittleRedEld
Bubble - Rjmech (because he won Faldo's chips. That will teach you!)

Congratulations to Derf-63 on his 29th NPP win!

Now some more quotes:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

[This explains the rise of the Traitor in Chief - Barrack Insane Obama and his dictator wanna be replacement Crooked Hillary. And the FBI still does nothing. And the Republicans in office still do nothing. - Faldo]

"When you want to know the depth of a stream, don't use both feet." - Chinese Proverb

"What is, is." - Faldo

"If you do not think about the future, you cannot have one." - John Gaisworthy

"Success is like driving a car at night. You never see further than your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way." - Faldo

"I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection." - Sigmund Freud

[This explains the collapse of the Americans who happen to be Black family, and most of the other problems in this country. Liberalism told women men were not needed, and most women believed the lie. Unfortunately, many men used it as an excuse to not be men. The destruction of this country brought to you by the women of this country. Pure and simple. - Faldo]

"Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely." - Karen Clark

"I discovered I always have choices. Sometimes, it is only a choice of attitude." - Judith Knowlton

"Cynicism is an unpleasant way of saying the truth." - Lillian Hellman

Faldo's attitude is that of acceptance. The United States as founded is over - regardless of who wins this rigged and either fixed (Hillary wins) or attempted to fix (Trump wins).

Hillary will continue to enrich herself at the expense of this nation, while continuing the leftist agenda of turning the once proud and free capitalist leader of the world into just another broken communist dictatorship.

Trump will be unable to fix much of anything! The Left will not go away. They will riot in the streets (but not conservative streets if they wish to riot again). Trump will have no friends in Congress - period.

The Congress that let Obama act as a dictator will use their constitutional power and the courts to stop every change Trump tries to do. The liberal media will dutifully report that Trump is doing 'nothing' and all the problems are now his fault.

But......on the plus side, at least the collapse of the USA will be delayed for four years.

Faldo will take the extra four years of quasi-freedom.

Rjmech Wins for the 2nd Time in 2016

One of RJ's poker groupies posing for her work ID.

It's awfully nice when you can win at NPP any time you want. Rjmech seems to do just that when he puts his mind to it. Here is where the mortal poker players finished:

2nd - GMOgolf
3rd - Mikeniks-Faldo
4th - T3chlady
Bubble - douge2

Congratulations to Rjmech on his 21st NPP win!

RJ is not making the NPP tourneys as often as he used to. But he has a good reason. He is busy playing live poker - taking stacks away from the Michigan locals around here, cashing in tournaments around here and winning satellites to big tournaments other places!

I'll let him and the tournament write-up people fill in the details. Way to go RJ!

"This could have been me!

I gave it a shot...I only lasted 2 hours on Day 1 but I thought I played well!

Oh well, I'm just glad I won the $1100 seat for $65. I'll be back in May!" - Rjmech

Brett Blackwood Wins Record-Breaking Michigan State Poker Championship $188,314

The 2016 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Michigan State Poker Championship at FireKeepers Casino was once again a record-breaking affair. At the final table, all eyes were on poker pro Aaron Massey, who was looking to go back-to-back in MSPT FireKeepers Main Events (the two largest tournaments in state history). However, at the end of a long day it was 27-year-old Brett Blackwood who captured the title and a $188,314 first-place prize.

“It feels fake right now, right now it just feels like a dream,” Blackwell said after the win. “I was all in 14 or 15 times, often behind, and just ran spectacular. Heads-up I hit the river twice to stay alive. It feels great. I like the trophy. I’ll put it next to my alarm clock so I’ll see it first thing in the morning, and I’ll put the money in the bank. The PLO bankroll was alright, but it just got a whole lot healthier, you know what I’m saying.”

Blackwood, who was playing in just his eighth tournament ever, is a painter by trade but spends much of his free time playing $5/$10 pot-limit Omaha in Detroit. He decided to play three $250 satellites for the Michigan State Poker Championship and managed to win a seat. From there, the story was survival as time and again Blackwell was on the ropes, but nary an opponent could finish him off.

The $1,100 buy-in Main Event, which began on Thursday, attracted 884 entrants (195 on Day 1a; 338 Day 1b; and 351 Day 1c), which not only made it the largest tournament in Michigan history – it surpassed the 820 runners from May’s event -- but also became the largest event the MSPT has ever held in the Midwest. The $300,000 advertised guarantee was shattered as an $884,000 total prize pool was generated, and on Sunday 179 survivors returned looking to claim their share.

However, with only 81 spots paid, 98 of them would leave empty handed. Among those to fall were MSPT Season 5 Player of the Year Mike Deis, MSPT Meskwaki champ Keith Heine, and the man who finished runner-up to Massey back in May, Ron Kruk.

Once the money bubble burst with the elimination of Leonard Gojcaj, the in-the-money eliminations came fast and furious. Among those to fall were defending Michigan State Poker champ Michael Ferrarotti (80th - $2,226), inaugural Michigan State Poker champ Ryan Dykhouse (78th - $2,226), MSPT Season 4 Player of the Year Pat Steele (34th - $4,365), Day 1b chip leader Parris Collins (18th - $6,848), Day 1a chip leader Casey Carroll (15th - $9,330), and Bill Rogers (14th - $9,330), who finished runner-up in the same tournament one year prior.

The final table was comprised of all Michigan players with the exception of Jimmy Ray and Massey, who hailed from Indiana and Chicago respectively. Nevada Saad, who began the day as chip leader, was the first to fall after running his pocket sixes into the nines of Ray, and then Josh Marvin ran king-queen into aces to fall in ninth.

After a short-stacked Satish Thakur failed to win a race for his tournament life, Massey’s run at history ended in seventh place. In his final hand, Massey shoved a queen-high flop holding pocket jacks only to be snapped off by Lars Cole’s two pair. Cole followed him out the door in sixth place after his pocket sixes failed to hold up in a race against chip leader Brett Blackwood.

The elimination of Ray in fifth place ensured the title would stay on home soil as the final four was comprised of all Michigan natives. Of them, Vinh Ho was the first to go after running into Church’s pocket aces, and two hands later Blackwell dispatched Griff Woodman in third place.

Church began heads-up play with a slight chip lead and the two battled back and forth until Blackwell got it in with ace-jack against ace-king. Church was one card away from winning the tournament, but Blackwell found a jack on the river to take a commanding lead. Amazingly, Church battled back and a few doubles later was back in the lead. Blackwell then got it in again, this time with ace-nine, and was up against Church’s pocket sevens. Church survived the flop and turn, but Blackwell once again hit the river when a nine spiked. Church was eliminated in second place for $114,314 on the very next hand.

Tomservo2 Wins for the 3rd Time in 2016. Some Quotes to Live By.

Tomservo2 fans cheer his victory!
Tomservo2 wins for the 3rd time this year and moves up the Walk of Fame! Tom already has a seat in the NPP Final, and this win shows why.

2nd - GMOgolf - gets into contention for the final seat!
3rd - Tigercub8189 - "the man has alligator blood" and just won't go away!
Bubble - Mikeniks-Faldo (what else is new?)

Congratulations to Tomservo2 on his 21st NPP win!

Now for some quotes to live by. Boy, do we need these right now:

"Be slow to choose your friends and slower to change them." - Benjamin Franklin

"If you don't know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else." - Lawrence J. Peter

"In preparing for battle (or business or life), I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." - Dwight D. Eisenhower

"We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse." - Rudyard Kipling

"It is better to die on your feet, than on your knees." - Faldo

"Before enlightenment - chop wood and carry water. After enlightenment - chop wood and carry water." - Zen Buddhist saying

"The greatest reward for doing, is the opportunity to do more." - Jonas Salk

"Energy and persistence conquer all things." - Benjamin Franklin

"It is hard to detect good luck. It looks so much like something you earned." - Frank Clark

"I find I'm luckier when I work harder." - Dr. Denton Cooley

More quotes next time.

T3chlady Wins for the 2nd Time in 2016 - One Regular Season Game Left!

T3chlady takes no prisoners at the poker table!
The NPP Lady puts herself right in the race to win the 4th quarter seat in the NPP final with tonight's win.

But fear not, m'Lady, because this win clinched you a Total Points seat even if you don't close out the deal next Monday. Faldo is also is guaranteed a seat with Total Point. That would leave one more Total Point seat up for grabs as Faldo is a wildcard and doesn't eliminate a seat by taking one (on the off year he gets lucky enough to actually get one).

There are still two other players - Derf-63 and LittleRedElf - who are vying for the last total point seat spot.

But......the 4th quarter seat is won first! And there are SIX players with a shot to win that! Depending on who wins the 4th quarter seat, will have a direct bearing on who wins the Total Point seats!

If Faldo wins the 4th quarter by winning next week and the right players are shut out, then the 2nd place finisher in the 4th quarter standings gets the 4th quarter seat!

That would take Faldo and possibly that second place finisher out of the Total Points seat list.

Long story short - it will as always be an exciting finish to the NPP year and - as Al Davis always said. "Just win baby!" and that takes care of everything!

One seat will remain to win after next Tuesday's action and that will be the Tournament of Champions winner - or highest finisher that does not already have a seat in the final. This is an excellent chance for someone to get in the NPP Final!

Three seats decided and another 5 to be decided! How cool is that?

Now for your holiday pleasure, here are the top single malt scotches that will not break your budget:

Aberlour a Bunnhd Cask - $80
An Cnoc Cutter Highland - $65
The Balvenie Double Wood (twss) - $50
The Glenlivet Nadurra - $75 (Faldo tested and approved)
The Macallan Cask - $60
Old Pulteney Navigator - $50
Speyburn Arranta Cask - $35

Faldo plans on 'testing' everything on each list. Oh the suffering Faldo does for his blog!

Best States or Socialist Republic of Michigan Counties to Live In

Yeah. What is up with that?

Well, since our country's last  election is only a month away or so, Faldo thought it was time to give you the list of the states that are considered most gun friendly.

Faldo will also give you what are considered the most conservative states in the union.

As you will see, being a 'conservative' state doesn't always mean it is gun friendly. Faldo doesn't get it. How can you be one without the other? But these are the current lists.

Living in these states (both if possible) may help you survive the zombie apocalypse  a little longer when the SHTF.

Gun Friendly
1. Arizona - a bit of a surprise to Faldo because it is a semi - liberal haven.
2. Alaska - Well, yeah. Either that or you are lunch for a grizzly instead of the other way around. But a welfare haven state so it will not make the conservative state list.
3. Utah - Faldo did not expect this state to be that high on guns.
4. Kentucky - Relaxed gun laws and great bourbon. Faldo found his retirement villiage. Oh, wait, another welfare haven for deadbeat parents.
5. Vermont - WOW! A state surrounded by gun Nazi states, and #2 on the state's most liberal list. This state loves guns and votes for the party that wants to take them away from them every single year. Now try to  argue with Faldo when Faldo says liberals are mentally ill.
6. Wyoming - Expected this state to be in the top five at least. But then again, it doesn't make the conservative state list.
7. Kansas - About right. But doesn't make the conservative state list.
8. Montana - Another state Faldo expected in the top five.
9. Georgia - About right. But a welfare haven.
10. Alabama.
Honorable mentions:
11. Texas - this was a shock in one respect. But then again Faldo expected the citizens of Texas to have sealed their border with a wall or a citizen's militia - with or WITHOUT the permission or sanction of their state or federal government. Instead of "Don't mess with Texas", Faldo thinks they changed their state saying to "Mess with Texas and we will let you, while lecturing you to death about how tough we still are."
12. Missouri
13. New Hampshire - A small shock here. But it is a semi-conservative oasis surrounded by liberal cess-pools.
14. Florida - Like Texas, with all the drug traffic, citizens would be sitting ducks without their weapons. Like they are in Chicago, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, California, etc.
15. South Carolina - Ok

Now the top ten most conservative states:
1. Mississippi - Not on the gun list. Why? Or why #1 on the most conservative list?
2.  Alabama - And #10 on the gun list. Looking like a good state so far.
3. Louisiana - Faldo is not buying this one. Welfare and corruption is a staple in this state - which shouts Democrat. And they are not on the gun list, which speaks volumes.
4. Utah - First state that was ranked conservatively where they rank gun wise. The state with the best average score possible!
5. Arkansas - If this state is so conservative, why couldn't they make even honorable mention on the Gun States list? Didn't Bill Clinton pollute the governor's chair in that state before?
6. Tennessee - Not buying this one either. Tennessee has turned into a welfare and illegal alien haven. Faldo lived in this state for a couple years in Faldo's late teens. Faldo knew the Volunteers when they had more onions than this. A pathetic shell of a once proud state. They should change their handle from the Volunteers to the "We Volunteer to Bend Over."
7. Montana - very close to it's gun score. Average of 7.5 to Utah's 4.0 and Alabama's 6.0.
8. Idaho - Not on the gun list? Why????
9. Oklahoma - Texas has a little brother and the Sooner State is it. So little, they could not make the gun list either. Another big - WHY not? Is Sooner Oklahoman for 'girly-men'?
10. South Carolina - Average score - 12.5. Ok, you qualify SC.

Only four states seem to be ultra conservative and ultra 2nd amendment;
Utah
Alabama
Montana
South Carolina

Faldo's pick would be..........Montana!
Utah - 2nd
Alabama - 3rd - warm weather would eventually draw a lot of refugees when the SHTF.
South Carolina - 4th - ditto to Alabama and too close to Washington, DC

To give you a perspective as to how conservative and how gun friendly these states are, we will use the the Socialist Republic of Michigan as a base mark. The Wolverine state has miles and miles of conservative space and a few huge cesspools of major corrupt cities of liberalism that push our ranks about 35th in both gun rights and conservatism.

This brings up another question - what counties in Michigan would have enough conservatives in there to actually fight with you when the SHTF? How about a top 10 or 15 list of the most conservative counties in Michigan to help real Americans to know where your fellow Constitutional citizens are:

1. Ottawa - 67%
2. Missaukee - 66%
3. Hillsdale - 62%
4. Livingston - 61%
5 - 8. Antrim - 60% - Dickenson - Luce - Sanalac
9. Alcona - 59% - Barry - Branch - Kalkaska - Otsego
14. Emmet - 58% - Montmorency - Newaugo
17. Midland - 57%

IF you have to live in the Socialist Republic of Michigan, these look like the counties to be in.

Absea98 Wins for the 2nd Time in 2016 - and Some Survivor Tips

Absea98 just floored the competition.

Absea98 beat a field of nine to win for the 2nd time this year and moves into contention for the final quarter seat in the NPP Finals.

2nd - Rjmech (who is heading on a long live tournament schedule shortly! Good luck RJ!)
3rd - Theedouble*d
Bubble - Derf-63

Congratulations to Absea98 on his 15th NPP win.

With the hurricane bearing down on Florida, Faldo thought it would be a good tome to give a little advice from a real civilian war survivor:

1. Living near a well with a manual pump is like being in Eden. Of course lakes and streams are second options, but the competition will be fierce. Think of the wildebeest trying to get a drink from an alligator infested pond.

2. After a while, even gold will lose it's luster. There is no greater luxury in a survivor situation than toilet paper. It's surplus is greater than gold.

3. Canned foods are awesome. So are a few good can openers! It is especially good if the contents in the cans tastes fine unheated.

4. Another great thing to have is canned gravy. It is inexpensive and will make a lot of dry unappetizing things edible. It only needs to be warmed enough to eat and doesn't have to be 'cooked'.

5. Books are a good thing to have around. Mysteries, romance novels and adventure stories become more valuable as time goes on. Picture the world without internet or TV and you have to save your radio power for just news bulletins. Plus, the paper is a good fire starter.

6. And we do need to feel human. Toothpaste and soap will make any situation more tolerable.

7. Slow burning candles.

8. Matches, matches, matches!

9. Gin, rum, vodka, whiskey, etc - you get the idea. Not for drinking - necessarily - but to disinfect items or injuries in a pinch.

10. Some bleach. A drop of bleach in a gallon of water to kill bacteria if you can't boil it. A drop of bleach and boiling the water is even better.
