Nik Finishes 5th on BoDog!

Ending a one tiny cash in a 23 tournament streak, I finished 5th going out when the big stack calls me down with QT against my KJ and hits a [T] on the river.

My 5 3 beat an all-in A7 suited to knock the first guy out of the final table. That gave me enough chips to hang around.

I won ten times my entry in the 141 player tourney.

congrats Mike!

what was the buy-in?

curious...I see that you have listed poker stars as the preferred on-line site to play at...why do you prefer it over say full tilt?

I don't like to mention buy-in's or cash amounts. Placing the amount of 'points' you gather on the internet is not a good idea - I don't think.

Full Tilt is not as friendly as Poker Stars. Their customer response time to emails is slow and their freerolls are a pain to try and enter.

They have very occasional 2700 player freerolls, but that fills up 10 minutes after it posts for entry an hour before the tourney.

In addition, they flash a 180 or 360 freeroll on the screen and it becomes a "speed mouse" competition.

Again, not customer friendly. If you are an established player like you or I - the site is fine. But many of the people who read this blog are not that experienced (some newbies are even playing in our Tuesday tourney on occasion).

I still put the site over Absolute and Ultimate Bet, because those sites have bad customer service also, and most of their real money tournaments are rebuys or qualifiers. I hate those. But at least Absolute has alot of freerolls for beginners.

BoDog has a tournament list close to the other three second tier sites, but I don't like thier poker software.

What about some live action this Sat. Nik have you heard from sparty. Nothing against sparty, but a west side sat game sounds good to me. If we don't get something going quick, it won't happen. If no one else wants to host, I might.

No response from SpartyToJo. I can't have it at NPP because of a family health issue.

If you want to try and host Matchy, I'm in. Sorry everyone. NPP will try to re-open for an April game.

OK guys - I got the go-ahead from Kat so if we have players the game is on at my house this Sat 3/15 at 7pm. In an attempt to draw Boother in - I will allow no-limit games as long as called in advance (obviously limited to your chip stack in front of you). To be fair to Boother I think he may be busy but I would still love to have him. Mike if you want to start a seperate post I think we have me, you and Hoggg. I'll run out and buy a jug - o - schnapps!

I would appreiate a roll call from the rest of y'all ASAP!
