NPP @ Boother's - Live Action

Boother invited us all over to watch the latest U of M loss to Ohio State and play a little poker.
It was a great time and we managed to get about four hours of poker in as well - with nine guys at the peak.

Boother just has the perfect place for a game. The fridge is packed with beer, hot snacks are on the grill, regular snacks on the island, candy on the counter, the Hi-Def TV is on the wall, the cigar ash tray is just outside the door, nice table and poker chips! Outstanding venue.

Matchy was the big winner I believe. Nice going Matchy! Everyone chime in with your results or Boother - let us know who cashed on the plus side. I know I lost two-buy ins. Just no cards or flops, but what else is new.

Boother also gave us a heads up about poker rooms in Flint! From what I gathered, they are off of US - 23 and Bristol Road. Boother, maybe you can comment with a better low-down.

Tim O. (the other guy w/ shaved head) reported a win as well this morning at work. He is duder's son, and I am working on getting him into our internets poker. Those cards are a good idea for recruits. Also I am hopeful that I will make the trek out east to HLAM's game when we get a date.

Whatever happened to Momo and BonAir?

T.O. hit that huge pot at the end. I of course missed.

Matchy, you took a nice pot down - actually with a monster starting hand. What was it? - AA23 in Omaha Hi/lo?

I took down two nice Omaha pots. One I had the nut flush where Boother and Buff both had nice flushes, King and Jack high each. The one you are referring to I believe I had AAK2 and was 2 suited. I got 3/4 of a nice pot there. The third memorable gamble for me was my pot-pot call with split 3's in in-between (acey-deucey) when I had Q3 and Q3. That could have been a nightmare.

I don't know MOMO but we see BonAir and 1rstout all the time. I try to get them to play...

I lose all the time anymore. Lost the edge. Lost my nerve. Lost something.
I zig when I should zag continuously.
Play tight - fold winners.
Lossen up - never hit a hand.
Play the player - guess wrong every time.
Don't know what has happened to me.
I know the competition is tougher but I'm in a downward spiral right now.
Thought maybe since my 'poker radar' is broken, maybe I would get some blind luck in some luck games.
Uh, no. My experience with pure chance has remained constant.
I got that going for me.

I ended up loosing around $80 or so at my place. But it was well worth it as I had an absolute blast!! Let's do it again soon!!!

Jim F. and I went up to Flint for the 7:00 pm tourney on Sat. Jim finished around 14th (give or take) and lasted to 11th again out of 40. No cash. Jim won $30 in the cash game after and I won $1!!!!

The poker room is easy to find. US-23 to Bristol Road (the Bishop Airport exit). Take Bristol east for 1/2 mile or so to Van Slyke and turn left (north). The place is on the right (across from the GM plant) about 3/4 of a mile. Can't miss the sign, it says BINGO and POKER ROOM. Their web site is www.flintpokerroom.com

p.s. Bonar was up north hunting.

Talked to Thai Food. He said they have similar 'charity' poker up in Lansing.
Thai Food - give us the low down on Lansing.

These strokes, All In Entertainment, have a gig in Lansing called NextPokerGame.
It's right on the border of East Lansing though, so you probably won't need to pack a rod (beerhog), but you may as well, why leave it in the car?

I have played at the Royal Scot golf course. They too have a "charity" event on thurs, fri, sat and sundays. I believe it is run by the Lansing Poker League...
