Aqualung Finishes 8th in Poker Stars Omaha H/L Tourney

Another final table by a NPP stable member. Aqualung bested 608 players and won 14 times his entry.
The fatal blow when his great hand of (2s Kd Kh Ac) gets killed by a (234Q) on a board of

[7Q6]
[Q]
[A]

The villian gets the nut low and trip Queens, and that ended the run - but a great run it was! Nice going Aqualung.

PS: Faldo cashed in 2 of 5 tourneys yesterday to break about even, but no final tables.

he truly was a villian I Raised preflop he called then I put him all in after flop, cards flipped over and I was happy to see his cards...many cards give me whole pot and he is gone, many cards give him half and me half and very few give him whole pot and the BS fell his way........like herbavor says fkn JOKERSTARS

Boother and I played in the $30 3pm tourney at Farrell's Sunnybrook Golf & Bowl & Poker in Sterling Hts. It was a nice facility with Jim doing a good job of running things. They move fast by doubling blinds every 12 min. There were probably around 45 in the tourney and three full tables of cash games with 3 deep waiting to get in! I busted fairly early by pissing away alot of chips on 2 small pocket pairs that got raised w/ lots of paint on the flop...I did not play the cash games as I gave the wife a break by heading home after I busted. Boother was still alive on the third day of his poker bender after I left, hopefully he will give us a report on the action after I left. I think he was going to play in the second tourney as well. I would certainly go back again, and they are going to open another one in Taylortucky according to Jim. He says it is the perfect job for him and he had things running quite smoothly. Too bad I can't brag about a win like the rest of you NPP playas.

To follow up on Chesky's comments, Jim Farrell does a GREAT job at running the poker room in Sterling Heights. You can tell he has perfected a system to keep the tourney moving. It also helps to make you feel welcome (as well as getting preferential treatment in securing a seat at a table) when you know the dude running the place!!!

My tourney performance ended up not being too much better than Chesky’s. I lasted a few hands after the break before the binds got really high in comparison to my short stack. My all-in w/ A5 didn’t win the race against a 22.

Then my poor luck continued at the cash table when on the 5 hand after the 2/5 table opened, I busted out when my all-in re-raise with 2 pair got called not only by a dude with the same 2 pair, but also by a guy with an open ended straight draw. The draw hit and the kid was bragging about what a great call it was on his part (mind you, he came to the table whining about how he got rivered when someone sucked out on him in the tourney with a straight!!!). But that’s poker!!!

Base on the play I saw at the tables, I would bet a reasonably good player could make some pretty decent money at this poker room. The clientele was a lot of young east-side “poker experts” (I call them experts because they all THOUGHT they were, based on the way they were running their mouths!!). In my opinion, the level of play certainly didn’t match all the yap that was very plentiful.

There is a link to Farrell's blog on this blog that details all times and fees. My boys start baseball tomorrow night. Looks like I'll be absent from internet tourneys for a while. It took me about 50 min. to drive there 696 to Mound to 17 Mile, real easy.

Boother, east side always is mouthy. I think it comes from living without trees all their lives.

(Here is hoping SpartyToJo and Herb defend the east side with gusto to these smackdowns! We need new and more "fun-tension" in the big NPP house!

Making fun of Beerhog is just too easy.
