U of M Poker Tuesdays joining NPP!

Exciting news!

At a secret location known only to the other most powerful people in the world, Nik Faldo and the CEO of Umichiganpoker.com met to negotiate maybe the biggest merger in the history of the world!

Wall Street was on pins and needles waiting for this to finally be settled. World peace may also now be in the offing.

Michele will be merging her tournament into ours! Nothing will change here at NPP, but a flood of new players is expected. A tidal wave! A tsunami!

Well, 3 or 4 anyway.

U of M Poker will put NPP and our tourney on their mailing in October and this can only increase the fun on Tuesday nights this winter, and hopefully the rest of the year as well.

The stock transfers, cost of the merger, and the massive entry fee paid by Umichiganpoker to NPP was not disclosed. The Wall Street Journal is begging for details, but they will have to be content with the little guys like Walmart and Exxon. Michele and Faldo are not talking to the crush of media hounding us.

wow!!! that sounds like great news! so how many people do they normally get every week? what is their usual buy-in? (maybe we can raise the stakes now (or next year)...???).

After reading your previous blog, one thing I was going to suggest was perhaps only the top 3 players earn points per game...perhaps 10, 5, 1 or 10, 7, 3...something like that. You could monitor the attendance record the rest of this quarter and see how many players we get on average…if it is 30 and less, then only top 3 get points…and if over 30, then keep the top 5 get points. I was thinking of another way to keep attendance up…(and this may be stupid…but I’ll throw it out there)…what if there was a requirement that in order for you to collect points you have to be present the prior week…???...OR…you could make it that in order for you to maintain your point standing from each quarter, you have to play at least 50% of the games per quarter…???

Anyway, maybe now with the additional players from this new group, no other changes will be necessary………..???
