NPP Game at Beerhog's

Beerhog hosted another great one! Seven were at the felt including newbie KC.
Tolly brought a sub, I brought a little extra beer, decks of cards and cigars. The game went on for 6 hours. No tourney as KC, Tolly, Matchy and LP could not stay that long.

My highlight of the night (tells you WELL I played) was finding out that the Party Poker decks I got with my Frequent Player Points were full size PLASTIC decks! After pulling Matchy's 'marked deck' out of the game , Beerhog opened those PP tickets up.

LP was the big winner - hitting many full houses and a couple quad hand. And NO - we were not playing wild cards - just alot of double beds. Quads were rampant this night. I think it is the Party Poker deck. It has the stain of "poker internet" on it.

Sev4TSev started out cold decked but posted a win, along with Tolly.

I counted eight 4 of a kinds registered in six hours of poker. I never got one but I think my count is about right. Might have been more.

A new game was tried - "Skinny Mini". A 5-card draw game but dealt like 5-stud. You simply draw to the cards you throw away. You throw out the down card, you get it down. Throw an up card, you have to turn the card dealt to you over. Opinions guys? Sev4TSev suggested two down instead of one.

PS: Beerhog - Remind me to bring some racks for you for the next game.
PSS: Tolly, get KC to this blog and the Tuesday night offering.
PSSS: Let's discuss what dates are good for October.

I request that Mike keep his Poker Table and host 2 to 3 games a year at his pad, Hog can host in the summer. 2 CARDS down in skinny mini? I'm down with that.......

I have to say one thing guys, you play the game to let the cards read and I recall at least 4 times guys calling their hands wrong and someone pointing out a better hand, which is fine, but on the other hand when you bring a new guy and we are declaring with chips in hand and he holds his hand out and startsto say wait a second and the other two guys open their palms and everyone shows low but the new guy meant to go hi and obviously when he flipped his cards over that was his intention we didn't give him the benefit of the doubt even though I know mike and I heard him say wait b4 the palms were open, AND I'm sure everyone else did so for a new guy we should've let that slide, on one hand you want him to play again to keep a good home game going and then that crap happens..... it was wrong......

I agree with the benefit of the doubt for the new guy that Tolly described in his huge run-on sentence. I need the benefit as well. I misread one of my own hands (Thanks 747!). I do not remember that specific hand but it seemed like we were all pretty friendly which is the way it should be.
If Hog needs a break I am willing to host at my crib. I have a good table, cards and chips and satellite tv in my 1/2 finished basement and similar accomodations to Hog in my garage. Either one would work for an Oct. date. I had alot of fun Sat. and I would like to keep it going!

pick a date. im am out of town on the weekend of the 12th. i dont care where we play. get it going. good sub tolly! i dont remember the wrong way hand tolly. i do remember going the wrong way myself and winning because i did so! the problem with letting someone change is that you could be guessing to get 1/2 the pot. how would you know? would he have won?

Maybe we can set up a 3 month deal:
June - July - August @ Beerhogs
Sept - Oct - Nov @ Tolly's
Dec - Jan - Feb @ Faldo's
March - April - June @ Matchys

Maybe Gridlock, Herbavor and LP could each take one month.

That would help out alot, and we west-siders would have to make the road trip east twice a year. I don't mind carting the chips and the cards if necessary.

IF we held this group and this schedule, we would probably have 6 for sure every game (Thai Food will play if no smoking at the table - and KC makes a nine player regular pool).

it was a new player, benefit of the doubt, he said wait... no big deal to me though, I did my part by bringing another player, whom I beleive is a good candidate to play again by the way. We sure did do our best to make him think otherwise though........

But again if it were one of us i'd say we screwed up and we must take the loss....

That sub was good, we should do that every game,,,\

Hey matchy how did you like that Denver game, that was a great TO baby

I loved the Denver game! I had them in suicide pool and Elam is my fantasy kicker. Let me talk to the wife and see about an Oct. date, good chance I would get Boother, Arctic and others as well. I hope KC isn't too bummed out Tolly, nothing seemed THAT out of line to me. If anything it was the fault of myself and Fred arguing about INXS!

By the way, the gay song "Wild Wild West" was by Escape Club, not the auto-erotic asphyxiator.

Matchy - let Tolly talk to HIS wife about a game.
I see you stepped up. Good man!

747 - Had to do some fund moving first.

Then, wanted to make sure I had your exact handle.

Now, Absolute don't work on the road for firewall rules.
Will hook you up Friday when I get home.

PS completed however.

Mike how come you didn't ask KC for his info, e-mail etc and invite him to your internet tourneys, I would advise him against that though, I've heard how new players get treated in that internet game.

tolly,

i didnt think we were hard on the new guy. i gave him the same respect i would give you! "OH" now i get it! lololol

but really i thought all went well with the exception of matchy knowing all of the bands to every gay song that was on the radio. maybe that scared him away! just wait until he meets gridlock. we will never see him again!

beerhog

p.s. i dont remeber the hand in question. my question is, would he have won?

After consulting with my better half Oct. 20 would work...7 pm. I just got a new fridge in the garage and outdoor urination is very convenient but it could be cold. At least I could claim shrinkage if I am peeing next to someone and they laugh at me. All you guys are invited. Lets get a roll call. For conversation sake I would also not be opposed to a Fri night Oct. 19 game. What if any is better, 19 or 20?

im in either way matchy.

I never said you guys were hard on the new guy and he never complained, I just thought that was poor etiquette
Anyways enough of that, I can probably play matchy and I will notify sunshine......... same stakes as NPP

Hard on the new guy?
Gay songs?
Open palms?
Going the wrong way?
Pick a date?
Stop it, you're scaring me.

Correction:
Maybe we can set up this rotation:

June - July - August @ Beerhogs

Sept - Oct - Nov - Dec - Jan - Feb @ Tolly's

March - April - June @ Matchys

Maybe Gridlock, Herbavor and LP could each take one month.

mike I know you got the hots for Lori, but come on, you don't even show up for our family gatherings, or any of your godsons ball games I just assumed that you would never come over for poker at my house, I play with a different group from my dads club at church and we sometimes play here, BUT I WOULD NEVER INVITE YOU TO THOSE UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO BE A GRACIOUS LOSER........

SEE YOU AT THE FELT

like I said Mike I am hosting my November and December Dads CLub games and you guys may play if you would like, but Mike I have to be honest, you need to be a more gracious loser before I allow you to play in my Dads Club games....

I truly do apologize....
