NPP at Premier Poker Lounge April 24th!

The NPP Tournament Committee has selected the 24th of April for the next NPP at PPL night. They worked long and hard (twss) on this decision. Besides, Tiffany said that NPP tournament headquarters is sending the pole out to be re-furbished that weekend (twss).

Checking the PPL blog it appears that Saturday is a $50 tourney, deep stack tourney. Bring your cash and your "A" game.

Check the comments soon for the time the tourney starts. Doors open at 6pm but the time the tourney starts is not listed anymore at the PPL blog. It was 7pm but now may be 6pm because of the stack-blind structure or the summer season.

Either way, Faldo will be there at 5pm in the bar having "dinner" prior to the tourney.

i had the worst ever cash game session ever. here is how patience helps you, but bad luck kills you.
3rd hand dealt AK in the bb. I kinda make a mistake by not 3 betting this hand pre flop, and playing it out of position. However the flop came K68 with 2 spades..I lead out for a pot sized bet and get shoved on by a middle position player..why else do you shove unless you have a draw? Well, his straight draw AND flush draw was a little ahead of my top pair top kicker and eventually hit the spade right on the turn. BIG loss for the 3rd hand and down $130. Oh well, I still have $30 on the table...now it might seem like most people would tilt, throw their money in within the next few hands...instead I fold my way down to $26 (even folded an AQ suited) and then picked up KK on the button. The pot was opened to $7 I 3 bet the button to $25 and got called in 3 spots. Flop K37 blank on the turn and 3 to seal the deal on the river! back to $100. That my friend is patient! everyone was impressed how i waited for the correct spot. 1 orbit later i have JJ utg. Since this is a very loose and stacked table I raise to $16. get called in 2 other spots..flop comes down J39 RAINBOW! Top set AGAIN! I lead out for $40. Get called in both spots. Turn is a 10. I ship in the remainder $43. Get called in both spots again..river Q. I start to mother f*ck the world and head for the door...This is poker stars/Full tilt shit! Runner Runner Q. 10. and of course none other then AK drags along...Really? $40 on the flop with complete air? I just love it when my opponent has a 1.616% chance of winning and get's there.
This session has seriously made me deep think about quitting poker.
Or maybe i just need to quit playing with noobs at $1-$2 NL.
I realize there are bad players everywhere..but this 1-2 game is becoming unbeatable...

My last cash game session my patience was "rewarded" the same way 4bet. I was dealt QQ in the BB and raised it up to $10 w/ one caller, the huuuge stack at our table who was willing to give anyone action. Flop comes Q52 rainbow and I push all in (around $80)hoping for the call I get. He shows 9 10 off! Turn is an 8 and he says boy a J would suck. River is a J, and I am on my way home light $100! This was the end of a 3hr session, oh well I'll take those odds and that type of play anytime. I guess bad beat stories are like assholes, everyone has one.

well agreed matchy bad beats are like assholes. It just mind fuck's me when over the past few months I've missed out on approx. 10k in tournament cashes due to 3 outed, runner runner perfect, and cold decked. Both online and Live. A kid just can't catch a break.....

I have told everyone....that would listen....that I ran bad for two years in a row once. Two years!

Don't let these bad streaks change your game like those two years did mine. lol (I still see ghosts)

These toilet bowl swirls happens to all poker players if they play long enough.

Remember, a poker player's real skill comes from managing the bad times - not from what he wins in a hot streak.

And never - ever lose sight of the fact that you make almost all your poker money from your opponent's errors and not your fantastic poker abilities.
