NPP's Big Blind and Small Blind girls wait for the winner, Rjmech! |
It’s tough when you play all year for a seat in this thing,
and it can be over in the turn of a card, as Tomservo2 found out. But that is
poker.
We were missing Lump2 tonight. It was really too bad Lump2
was not here. He played great all year, and Faldo was looking forward to a full
Finals game with all of NPP’s best there.
Faldo, with a bad case of the flu, was pressed into service
to fill out the final 6 table. Biggest tourney of the year and Faldo is spaced
out on codeine and antihistamines. Nice timing!
And poor LittleRedElf was bowling in his league’s first half
championship AND trying to win the NPP
final - at the same time. How is that for dedication to our league? But tough to play your best
poker and pick up the 7 – 10 split at the same time!
Sometimes life gets in the way of poker.
Now, don’ get me wrong! I am not trying to tear down Rjmech’s
victory at all. As his destruction of this fine group of poker players shows
since he re-joined the league has shown, he is certainly capable of rolling the
field at full strength. And the winner never has to apologize for what is going on with his opponents.
It was just disappointing – much like a lopsided Super Bowl
– we didn’t have an epic battle like we have had on some regular nights.
On to the action:
4 min: Tomservo2 (6th) calls
Rjmech’s all-in with (JJ) and a flop of [T34] (78%). Rjmech (AT) (22%) butt an
[A] hits the turn!
15 min:
Rjmech 3375
T3chlady 1930
LittleRedElf 1560
Mikeniks-Faldo 1515
Pre01 620
18 min: A SS Pre01 (5th)
goes with his pair of Threes, but LittleRedElf has two pair.
24 min: Mikeniiks-Faldo (4th)
sees his (AA) lose to Rjmech’s (7d 5d) with a turned straight.
Faldo had no business calling
Rjmech’s all-in. None. Baaaaaad judgement! Faldo knows better too.
30 min:
Rjmech 3533
LittleRedElf 3077
T3chlady 2390
45 min: A SS T3chlady (3rd) has to
go with A-high and runs into Rjmech’s pair of Jacks.
Heads up:
Rjmech 7643 -
LittleRedElf 1467
46 min: A SS LittleRedElf (2nd)
has to go with (QT) but can’t catch Rjmech’s (A3).
Congratulations to Rjmech on winning
the NPP Player of the Year Tournament!
