Derf-63 Wins for the 3rd Time in 2018 - And a Holiday Cook-out Story

Derf-63 Wins................. three groupies!

Derf-63 withstood an early card rush given to Faldo, then took the lead at the final table and never relinquished it. Faldo took a big chip lead early when he had a flop hit rush, then gave it all back as the same great cards hit nothing for a long stretch, actually falling to 5th out of five. Anyway the early chip leader and the middle tournament chip leader hung on for 1st and 2nd.

Now for a little comment from Faldo:

Faldo hopse you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Faldo also hopes you all took a moment to mentally thank all the veterans that gave their lives to protect and serve this nation.

Holidays are designed to give us the time to do this - as well as to give us time to use the freedom those veterans protected for us. No need to feel guilty about using that time to do your own thing. Enjoy. But please remember what the holiday is all about.

Faldo used his two-thirds of his weekend (well, Mrs. Faldo ordered Faldo to use two-thirds of Faldo's weekend) for some serious yard work. But on the 3rd day, Faldo was allowed to do his own thing, which included a golf scramble with some friends. After which, Faldo returned home to attend a neighbor's typical holiday backyard cookout.

Burgers, chicken, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, grilled veggies of all kinds, chips, olives, pickles, etc. You get the idea. Just a nice spread of summer favorites. The invitation was greatly appreciated and the large spread was a welcomed sight to a hungry Faldo after the golf round.

After dinner, the guests were invited inside and into the air conditioning for homemade desserts of ice cream, cheesecake and cookies. Faldo passed on these treats, as Faldo must save his extra and unnecessary calorie intake for beer and scotch.

Nice and friendly conversation was being held over the desserts. The usual stuff, kids, work, spouses, current home history and length of ownership - all of which Faldo is sure only the women will remember. Well, Faldo certainly won't retain any of it - which is why Faldo needs Mrs. Faldo.

How everyone is receiving their television signals came up, and how everyone is trying to cut the cord with cable AND get rid of the dish. It was also brought up on how few channels everyone actually watches.

Someone mentioned how they don't get FOX News, but don't care because "that station is so bias." There was a round of agreement by our neighbors and my wife grabbed my knee in that "if you say a word, I will kill you" grasp.

We had a VERY new neighbor at this gathering of six home residents and I was looking to see what her reaction to that statement was. As a poker player, Faldo read her as not happy with that statement. There was no slight nodding of the head or a knowing smile. Just the same stone face that Mr. and Mrs. Faldo had.

But as everyone who plays poker with Faldo will testify, Faldo can't READ players!

Everyone at this gathering - except Mr. and Mrs. Faldo - either is a teacher in the public school system or WAS a teacher in the public school system. Even this "new" neighbor IS a teacher. So, Faldo's read could be wrong.

The point of this story is to point out two undeniable facts.
One: Our school systems are managed, run and operated by communists and socialists.
Two: Liberals screw up a neighborhood with liberal policies, then move to a conservative area and proceed to destroy that neighborhood.

Now these neighbors at this party take care of their property, and none do any drugs at all. Few even drink at any real volume at all. But they are the upper - middle class liberals. They live like conservatives but vote Democrat-socialist-communist. For instance, they want wind mills, federal housing, open boarders, high taxes and diversity - just not where they live!

As the liberal policies take hold and begin to destroy the area, first the conservatives leave. Once the liberalism is locked in place and the real disintegration starts,  then the upper class liberals leave, following the conservatives to their new location. And the cycle continues.

Now a backyard neighborhood get together, where you are invited to break bread on a holiday is not the best place to start a political debate. And Faldo was torn as to start "educating" right then and there, or let it pass. If they would have started any real Trump or conservative bashing, Faldo would have responded with the truth and told them - if they are still voting Democrat you are either a communist, socialist or a useful idiot.

But Faldo held his tongue - partly because of my wife's subtle request, partly to see how far this discussion was going to go, but mostly because the statement of FOX News being bias is a true statement. Let's face it - it does lean right. Faldo can admit that.

But it is still the most fair and balanced news source on television. That is what this group of socialists refuse to acknowledge or are too mentally ill to see that the rest of the news sources actually run the Democrat Party...not report on it.

As the conversation continued, nobody continued with any more discussion of news stations as they moved on to the entertainment channels they watched. The channels mentioned were pretty 'conservative' in nature and had family and conservative values. All said they watch "none of the junk on today" and "none of the reality shows". Again, socialists living as conservatives - but unaware of it.

Of course what people say outwardly and how they really behave in their homes is sometimes not even close - which is why all these political polls are a joke. Heck, some of these public liberals might be Trump voters. But Faldo's read is that these folks are the "I'll vote Democrat until the Democrats succeed is ending my right to vote" type of useful idiots.

As a few of us conservative pundits have stated, this election of Trump and this upcoming midterm election is the LAST chance to save the republic. If we don't do it now, it's over.

Faldo missed a chance to educate. Of course Faldo would not have won them over then and there. But maybe a seed of doubt is planted and they would do some research themselves. Who knows.
Faldo should have tried to educate these people.
