Tonight, in pitch black darkness, PokerStars cleared the 2020 Nik's Poker Palace Finals tournament plane for landing. Someone there at the Isle of Man PS headquarters must have got a giggle of it.
Faldo is not recovering the plane. They can have it.
Turn out the lights - the party's over. They say all good things must end.
Fun Parties. Fun poker games. Fun poker tournaments and leagues. Fun Chess Clubs.
Even Republics and Constitutions end. Not a bang, but a whimper.
Yes, all good things come to an end eventually. So does Niks Poker Palace.
Our NPP Final tonight was scheduled. Faldo believes he saw five players already registered of the nine that qualified - including your host.
But when Faldo logged in - the tournament was not there! It mysteriously disappeared. The same way 3 to 5 weeks of our poker results during the regular season did.
Well, between losing control over my on line poker statistics, losing freedoms as an individual in my state and then having my country stolen by obvious voter fraud, Faldo is just not in the mood to fight little windmills like PokerStars.
Faldo was planning on setting up the tournament for 50 weeks next year, but with the uncertainty of PokerStars software, why bother?
Faldo wishes to thank all the players who have supported this league and this blog. You are the reason it was a labor of love. But the desire in Faldo is gone. The get up and go in Faldo...has got up and went.
It's move, bend, surrender, step aside, or walk away humbled for Faldo from now on.
There will be an occasional post. Odd thoughts, pithy observations. Maybe a recap of NPP history starting at a re-telling of the White Whale saga and each year recap of NPP history! That is a year of posts right there.
We will see what the new year brings.
My prayers and best wishes go out to all of you my friends.
