Life is getting busier for me with kids and sports and my own desire to fish, plus a fri. night golf league (all sandwiched in with being the vice-president of a household and family). There just ain't that much time and I know there are lots of guys in my boat. It is interesting Mike how you are a self proclaimed empty nester but much of the NPP is a little younger with kids still at home (747, 4putt, Tolly, Hog and me to name a few). That is probably a big reason it is tough to find players, plus older guys dropping out (the Wall) don't help either.
I too have felt the frustration of trying to organize a poker game and I know right where you are coming from. I reminded myself of the old Ricky Nelson song lyrics "You can't please everyone so you got to please yourself" and decided to let the games kind of form on their own occasionally rather than fighting to get them started.
MatchyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-32198105495558203962007-06-18T22:06:00.000-04:002007-06-18T22:06:00.000-04:00Guys I saw matchy at my kids game they crushed us ...Guys I saw matchy at my kids game they crushed us but Josh had 2 nice rips, Anyways I said he contributed to NPP folding because he introduced Nik to all his internet buddies, they never came to NPP but they make the Tuesday tourney go, Anyways you should keep your stuff Mike, but don't try to hold games every month, say maybe twice a year like I remember My dad doing with his buddies, say early Nov or Dec and late Feb or early March. Well at least I got back in the good graces before the closing hehehhehehehhe.
I do have one guy that is interested in playing and the stakes are right up his alley, I do believe if he plays he would be a good bet to play again.
I do enjoy the game we play, tourneys are nice but I prefer our style, dealers choice ETC......

Anyways here is when Nancy starting getting real hot and Ann starting getting heavy but still looked good here,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcAn3z7D1PcAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-60062296342005416542007-06-18T20:33:00.000-04:002007-06-18T20:33:00.000-04:00Guys, I will reconsider if we could get more playe...Guys, I will reconsider if we could get more players. But getting games together are like pulling teeth.
Matchy, I agree the friendly game is the best!Nik Faldohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11612344156293368237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-62152498848715081662007-06-18T20:27:00.000-04:002007-06-18T20:27:00.000-04:00Sorry to hear you are shutting down Mike, if I wer...Sorry to hear you are shutting down Mike, if I were you I would keep my stuff so I could host an occasional game. That is pretty much what the rest of us do, less pressure to find players that way. Tonight at baseball Tolly said it was all my fault for bringing the boothers, rownders, articblasts etc. But after all it was Tolly who brought me. I am glad I played a few times at the end of an era, but I would consider hanging on to it, what are you gonna do with $140 anyway. Maybe I don't understand the logic because I have zero desire to play at a casino. To me poker is all about playing with buddies. That being said, one more game would probably be in order. Plus from my perspective you guys play a unique and cool brand of poker, not just the cookie cutter $50 tourney. You may have a hard time finding that outside of a casino or the NPP (just sayin').
MatchyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-28859782838692972742007-06-17T09:08:00.000-04:002007-06-17T09:08:00.000-04:00It's the end of an era. :-(It's the end of an era. :-(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-63661151345747832892007-06-16T21:04:00.000-04:002007-06-16T21:04:00.000-04:00one more game.....one more game....one more game.....one more game.....one more game....one more game......one more game.....one more game......

beerhogAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-34841403084615990492007-06-16T20:41:00.000-04:002007-06-16T20:41:00.000-04:00Great idea Tolly - except that if it was in style,...Great idea Tolly - except that if it was in style, I would not be retiring from hosting.

When I was younger, I had a pool of people to draw from. I was out and about.

Now I'm in a stagnate pool. Comfortable and nice, but no current.

Time to be one of the 'Maybe. Count me in and I will call if I can't make it' guys.

I will still blog and maybe try to expand the internet league. But I think it is time for the casino and play at other house games.Nik Faldohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11612344156293368237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30869306.post-16993358893085464042007-06-16T16:38:00.000-04:002007-06-16T16:38:00.000-04:00you have to go out in style and have one last game...you have to go out in style and have one last game.........Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
